I own a 2008 Mini Cooper S. The car is seriously fun, but it definitely comes with some quirks that most owners just classify as character. One example is the interior lights. You can switch them between blue and purple, but not white. It gives the car a safe bet 70's feel, but one I find unique.

The run flat tires have pressure gauges in the stem, which read this as the tire going flat. The flat tire warning light then comes on even though there is not a problem.

The first time this happened, I drove it into a discount Tire store. They checked the tire and found nothing wrong. The second time this happened, I did the same thing. The third time this happened, I check the pressures in each tire, reset the warning light and went about my business!

If you have a newer Mini Cooper, you need to have a tire gauge handy. The warning light will come on frequently in winter, so you'll need a quick and ready way to know if you have a qoute or false alarm. Driving to the tire store each time is not even remotely worth it!
